The 10th CoolMoon · Culturas del Mundo Fest 2026 presents Juan Mesa in Tacoronte, as part of the Day of the Native Breeds of the Islands, an event dedicated to highlighting the living, rural and cultural heritage of the Canary Islands.
Juan Mesa is a singer-songwriter, composer, timple player and multi-instrumentalist with roots in La Gomera. His career is marked by the connection between Canarian roots music, folklore, singer-songwriter traditions, Ibero-American sounds, improvisation and world music. His proposal begins with island memory, but opens it up to a contemporary, free and deeply personal language.
Live, his music brings together voice, guitar, timple, traditional percussion and a stage sensitivity closely linked to the land, oral tradition and cultural transmission. It is a proposal that naturally connects with an event focused on native breeds, rural knowledge and the identity of the islands.
In the open-air setting of Parque Hoya Machado, CoolMoon offers a midday concert designed as a meeting point between generations, territory and shared memory.
A performance to celebrate Canarian roots, cultural diversity and the strength of music born from landscape, words and the experience of those who have kept tradition alive.
