The 10th CoolMoon · Culturas del Mundo Fest 2026 presents Cristina Mahelo as part of “Women and Sustainability”, a programme dedicated to highlighting women’s creativity, environmental awareness and cultural practices committed to the territory.

Cristina Mahelo is a multidisciplinary Canary Islands artist whose work brings together roots music, contemporary sounds, spoken expression, memory and a strong connection to island identity. Her artistic universe is shaped by a contemporary sensibility linked to collective emotion, social awareness and attentive listening to the surrounding environment.

Her live performance offers an intimate and expressive experience, where the voice, Canarian roots and contemporary textures come together naturally. This is music that does not hide emotion, but places it at the centre: honest, direct and full of character.

In the historic setting of the Exconvento de Santo Domingo, in La Laguna, CoolMoon creates a space to connect women, sustainability, memory, territory and the present, reinforcing the festival’s role as a meeting point for cultures, languages and new artistic sensibilities.
